Marana, AZ School District

Marana public schoolsThe Marana Unified School District #6 is an integral part of the community and takes pride in knowing that the district is one of the reasons families choose to live in the
Marana area. Student enrollment during the 2008-09 school year was close to 13,000, with a graduating senior class of 767students. A staff of 1,900 full, part-time, and substitute educational and support employees serve the needs of those students. The
district includes eleven elementary schools, one intermediate school, two middle schools, two high schools and one alternative school.

Marana Unified School District is a district of exceptional excellence: with nine schools that have A+ recognition and three have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools; that has had eight teachers selected in the top ten category for the Arizona State Teacher of the Year; where educators, counselors and principals have been recognized as outstanding faculty and awarded for their exemplary contributions to education; where support staff have been honored for the difference they make in the lives of children; and where all of our graduating seniors have met AIMS requirements. In 2006, the district also had the distinct honor of having Kristin Bourguet, Marana High School educator, selected as the Arizona Teacher of the Year.

As the district continues to grow and evolve, parents, community and business members are invited to become involved in our schools. Visit a school near you, volunteer in a classroom or attend a board meeting.

May you find success and fulfillment in your association with the Marana Unified School District.
